Storstugan on Limön

Limön is an idyllic summer island in the Gävle archipelago. The old fishing village comes to life when summer visitors arrive on the island.

Information

Limön also offers opportunities for swimming, fishing, barbecuing at picnic areas, walking the nature trail and visiting the old lighthouse. Thanks to the lime-rich soil and favourable climate, several plants on the island are unique, and there is a rich birdlife.

Limön is a nature reserve, which means great consideration must be shown to the island’s wildlife and natural environment, as well as to other guests and residents on the island.

The cottage:
The cottage is equipped with kitchenware, a fridge (no freezer), kettle, coffee maker and a single hotplate, as well as a barbecue and outdoor furniture.

There is a bunk bed for two people, a sofa bed for two people and two extra beds.
Guests bring their own bed linen. Pillows, duvets and blankets are provided.

There is electricity in the cottage.

There is an outhouse in Brygglängan next to Limö Café. There is no shower.

Water is collected from a tap by the café. The groundwater level is low, so it is important to use water sparingly.

Limö Café is open during weeks 28–31 (Wednesday–Saturday), from 10:00 am to 3:30 pm, serving coffee and pastries, ice cream, light lunches and locally made treats.

During the summer of 2026, the Limö ferry operates Wednesdays to Sundays from week 28 through week 31. Departures are at 10:00 am from Gävle and 4:00 pm from Limön.
