SHL: Örebro Hockey

The visitors have taken a path that differs from many of the league’s more traditional clubs, climbing from the third tier to an established place in Sweden’s top division in just a few years. Since earning promotion to the SHL in 2013, Örebro have gradually strengthened their organisation and become a team firmly established at the highest level. Hockey itself has deep roots in the city, even though today’s Örebro Hockey is a considerably younger club than many of its SHL rivals. Their visit to Gävle therefore brings together two clubs whose journeys through Swedish hockey history have been very different. Brynäs against Örebro means more important points at stake – and another night where everything will be decided on the ice at Monitor ERP Arena.
