With 16 Swedish Championship titles, Djurgården are one of the most successful clubs in Swedish ice hockey, and their meetings with Brynäs bring together two organisations that have helped shape the history of the sport for decades. After three seasons in HockeyAllsvenskan, Djurgården returned to the SHL in 2025 and immediately showed that their ambitions extended far beyond simply staying in the league, reaching the playoffs in their first season back. The club is also backed by a passionate supporter culture and an enthusiasm for hockey that repeatedly fills the stands in Stockholm. When Djurgården travel to Gävle, they bring history, confidence and a touch of big-city intensity with them onto the ice. Brynäs against Djurgården is the kind of fixture where the two club crests alone are enough to remind you just how much Swedish hockey history is represented on the ice.
