Seal and white-tailed eagle safari in Axmar
Join a guided boat tour through the unspoilt archipelago of Axmar, with the chance to spot grey seals, white-tailed eagles and a rich variety of birdlife. A nature experience where tranquillity, wildlife and coastal history take centre stage.
Information
Just outside Axmar Bruk lies an archipelago where nature has remained largely untouched. With no summer cottages, hardly any boat traffic and plenty of space for both wildlife and visitors, this is a place to enjoy the peace and quiet.
Together with certified nature guide Jan Stagenmark, you will explore the waters of Axmar Nature Reserve. During the approximately one-hour boat tour, you will look out for seals, white-tailed eagles and other birds that inhabit the coastline. Binoculars are available to borrow on board.
But the archipelago offers more than wildlife encounters. Beneath the surface lie old shipwrecks, while the coastline holds traces of both the ironworks' maritime history and the Russian raids of the early 18th century. Jan shares fascinating stories about the area's past and life in the archipelago, then and now.
The tour takes place in a small group, offering a personal and close-up experience of nature. Don't forget your camera – you might spot a curious seal popping its head above the water or a white-tailed eagle soaring over the archipelago.
