On the first Sunday of Advent, Gävle fills with Christmas spirit, togetherness and anticipation as we gather to unveil the iconic Gävle Goat. For six decades, this beloved tradition has put Gävle on the Christmas map and become a symbol of the season, both here at home and far beyond Sweden’s borders.

Come and experience the magical atmosphere as we welcome Christmas together, celebrate 60 years of the Gävle Goat and make new Christmas memories. Bring your family, friends and loved ones and join us as Gävle fills with Christmas joy, tradition and festivities.

A day full of Christmas magic
The whole city is joining in the Christmas celebrations. Throughout the day, there will be festive activities for all ages, including a Christmas market in the city centre, Christmas fun in Stortorget and the unveiling of Sweden’s largest gingerbread house.
